Kehinde has been an instructor of Creative Writing, and an English Language and Literature tutor, helping young, budding, and emerging writers across major cities in Nigeria discover their writing talents. 

Through collaboration, shared inquiry, communication, and dialogue, Kehinde provides solutions and lessons that help English/ESL/EFL students improve their English and writing skills whilst also carrying out personalized instruction for each student, adapting to their level and needs.

Kehinde is the Founding Editor of Write Now Lit — a contemporary online literary journal that is home to vivid writing and Nigeria’s foremost Creative Writing nonprofit, and Lofty Steps Consults, a literary press, and publisher of Literary and non-literary books, that provides publishing services to new, emerging, and independent authors and writers

Kehinde facilitates classes in Creative Writing for WriteNowLit. WriteNow, (registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria) was founded in 2017 as Nigeria’s foremost Creative Writing Non-profit. Since 2017, WriteNow has taught Creative Writing (Poetry, Prose, and Creative nonfiction) to almost 1,000 young Students at the University-preparatory and tertiary level in Nigeria. It received an award of excellence for an impactful CSR from the NYSC and Akwa Ibom State government, publishing an eponymous magazine that featured writings from students, and also for donating books and other writing materials to student-beneficiaries.

With over 70 fellows: writers, authors, literary enthusiasts, and Creative writing instructors from everywhere, WriteNow reaches out to schools in Nigeria, and elsewhere, to teach Creative Writing for free. Students are engaged in composition, writing tasks, reading tasks, handling shape, sound and writing prompts.

In 2019, WriteNow facilitated a visit to a High School in Bode Thomas, Surulere. The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA, Lagos Chapter) partnered with WriteNowLit in teaching Writing to these students. Writing materials were also donated to some of the students as a reward for their unwavering interest in Creative Writing.

Kehinde admits that his objectives and techniques as a teacher is to help his students develop belief in their abilities and creative prowess, providing them with life-long problem-solving skills and life-changing values. He notes: “It is of utmost importance to me to actively engage and involve students in the teaching process. To aid learning, I implement teaching modalities that enhance collaboration and brainstorming. To connect theory with practice and to better help students visualize learning, I utilize real-life instances and new media devices such as social media, design regarding other art forms. I want my students to be bold enough to change the world and who they are, finding opportunities in uncharted territories, erstwhile dreaded by others.”
